Here at 'Viscom Towers' we always aim to keep our clients up to date with what's happening so it gives me great pleasure to introduce our first newsletter.
Viscom can report that it is experiencing a period of growth and to this end there have been some exciting changes here at our Clifton Road offices. We have introduced some new members to our team and taken over an additional 1500 sq ft space on another floor to house our new administrative suite and an expanded multimedia department.
As part of the expansion programme to upgrade our new office space an investment of over £50,000 has been made to our post production facilities by replacing our two previous edit systems with an Avid UNITY server linked to two Avid media composers.
The Unity system acts as storage for all our editing material and both edit suites have access to and can use any media at any time
- even simultaneously, which is a great benefit when deadlines are approaching! We now have two separate editing rooms which allow for a much more comfortable experience.
Viscom is continuously improving its capabilities through the creative use of 3D animation and 2D graphic technology. We use our capabilities across the board with all our clients in addressing their individual requirements and in particular we have combined our expertise in the aviation sector along with our multimedia technology capabilities to successfully address the needs of two of our clients, Gulf Helicopters and ExxonMobil (Angola).
Our slogan is 'Your Message our Focus' which I think sums up our dedication to providing the best service we can for our clients, but do you remember some of these gems?

key appointments strengthen Viscom's production team
In response to increasing demand for technically complex production work. Aberdeen video and multimedia company, Viscom, has appointed three key personnel.
Richard Holman has joined Viscom as production manager, from city design and marketing agency Hamptons, bringing significant commercial and technical experience to the post.

Many digital cameras as well as printers and scanners come bundled with a version of Photoshop Elements, that contains the basic tools from Photoshop and is an ideal way of cataloguing and manipulating images.
One useful feature of Elements is the ability to resize a whole bunch of images at the same time ? should you want to put them on the web etc.
This tip explains two methods for doing this.
