Viscom Wins New Offshore Contracts Work

11 November 2009
Viscom has won oil and gas sector contracts worth more than GBP160,000 after offering clients a wider range of 3D animation options.
Orders for fully-animated health and safety material have come from across the world, and Viscom has increased staffing numbers to service the new contracts.
Among these is a contract to produce a fully-animated induction for staff and contractors on the Babbage platform, the first UK North Sea installation owned and operated by E.On Ruhrgas. Viscom was chosen as preferred supplier because of the company's specialist track record in offshore safety.
Venture Production Netherlands has commissioned Viscom to update the safety induction for its J6A-P platform with a fully animated version reflecting layout changes and revised procedures.
An animated induction for Venture Production Netherlands' F3FA platform will also come online next year, and work begins early in 2010 on an animated induction for the Chevron E&P Netherlands B13 platform, together with an update of the A12CPP platform induction.
The company's broad experience in helicopter passenger safety briefings has led to two new contracts - one from an oil major in the West Africa, and the other from CHC - which is strengthening its partnership with Viscom through material to be used in Indonesia and Turkey.
Viscom General Manager Bruce Milne said the new work was testament to the company's commitment to meeting clients' changing needs. "Despite the downturn in many sectors, we are experiencing one of the busiest periods we have had in the past few years.
"This is down to us continually developing our industry experience and animation capabilities and being able to offer what businesses are seeking, both here in the UK and worldwide.
"We have taken on one new staff members to allow us to service these new contracts."
