Client Background
RedCeal Ltd aims to provide market-ready products to enhance offshore efficiency by improving current operational, health and safety practices while reducing impact to the environment.
Brief
RedCeal needed to attract investment to develop a full-size working version of a new marine riser system packer seal. Although there was a small fully functioning prototype, it was difficult to use this for demonstration purposes as the product's key workings were hidden from view.
Viscom was invited in April 2009 to undertake 3D modelling of the system in order to make the benefits apparent to possible investors.
Budget: £5,000.
Solution
Viscom produced a 3D model of the new product and through comparison with traditional system seals and the use of cross-sections, was able to showcase the RedCeal packer's advantages, including the scope for seal replenishment in situ.
The Viscom team developed the accompanying script and investigated every benefit the system offered, as well as designing a logo and webpage for RedCeal.
Stock footage was used to enhance the video programme while keeping within the tight budget.
Success
The 3D modelling video - delivered in August 2009 - has helped RedCeal attract inward investment from a major oil operator and a drilling company. The video also features prominently on the company's website.
