Multimedia and video specialist Viscom has won a series of international contracts with a combined value of more than £150,000.

The contracts secured include one from global mining group Rio Tinto and one from French helicopter operator Heli-Union, both of which chose Aberdeen-based Viscom because of the company's reputation as a leading expert in the provision of aviation passenger safety briefings.

Rio Tinto has commissioned a series of passenger information HSE programmes for fixed-wing aircraft and helicopter operations in various remote global locations, while Paris-based Heli-Union is working with Viscom to develop safety briefing programmes to serve its helicopter fleet worldwide.

Viscom is also creating a 3D animated platform induction programme for energy provider Centrica's new-build platform for the Dutch SNS sector, and a best practice rig induction programme to support oil and gas exploration company Tullow's West Africa operations. This will take advantage of the latest animation technology and use region-specific narration.

Among other recent contracts is one for Bond Air Services to produce workforce helicopter briefings for the UK's largest offshore wind farm at Greater Gabbard, Suffolk, and another designed to assist Seven Energy's Nigerian arm Septa in forging positive local relationships.

Viscom production manager Richard Holman said: "Our programmes have played a critical role in the safety of offshore workers in the North Sea for more than twenty years, and we are now increasingly consolidating our position as a global provider of quality briefings - and not just within the aviation and energy sectors.

"These contracts are fresh testament to our strong reputation in the field and our ability to deliver at the highest level. We have now increased our staffing levels in direct response to winning these new contracts."
